Sade Scouts, the trading name of Benyamin Sade, an independent model scout based in London, is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. This page explains what is collected, why, how it is kept safe, and the rights you have over it. Personal information is handled in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. The information we collect
Most of the information we hold comes directly from you through the Get Scouted form. That includes your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, city and country, height, your Instagram and TikTok handles if you choose to share them, any previous agency representation, a message if you decide to write one, and the digitals you upload. If you are aged 16 or 17, we also collect the name and email address of your parent or guardian.
We collect only what is needed to assess an application and, where appropriate, make an introduction. Nothing more.
Like most websites, this site may collect basic technical information, such as your browser type and the pages you visit, through standard analytics. We do not use advertising cookies.
2. Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your information to review your application, decide whether to make an introduction, present you to agencies and industry professionals, communicate with you (and your parent or guardian where relevant) about your submission, keep a record of consent, and, where separately agreed, feature you on the Scouted By Us page.
Our lawful bases are consent, for processing your submission and for any public display of your images, and legitimate interests, for running and securing the website and keeping basic records.
3. Applicants under 18
We do not accept applications from anyone under 16. Any data received from a person under 16 is deleted without being reviewed.
For applicants aged 16 or 17, we require parent or guardian consent before any introduction is made. We copy the parent or guardian into our communications, and we will not display a young person's images publicly without separate written consent from their parent or guardian.
4. Who we share it with
Your information is shared only with modelling agencies and industry professionals we have chosen to approach on your behalf, and only for the purpose of that introduction. We do not sell data, share it with marketing companies, or pass it to anyone unconnected to the scouting process.
Once an agency receives your details, that agency becomes responsible for how it handles them under its own privacy policy.
Our website and database provider processes data on our behalf under contract, as part of its hosting and storage services, and cannot use it for its own purposes.
5. Where it is stored and how it is protected
Your data is stored in a secure, access-controlled cloud database, with encryption in transit and at rest. Only Benyamin Sade has access to the admin area, which is protected by a password. Uploaded photos are held in a private storage area that is not publicly accessible.
We review access and security settings regularly. In the event of a serious breach, we would notify the individuals affected and the Information Commissioner's Office, as the law requires.
6. How long we keep it
Applications we do not take forward are deleted within 6 months of the decision. Applications we introduce to agencies are kept for up to 2 years from the last contact, so we can follow up, and are then deleted. Images shown on the Scouted By Us page are kept while the person is featured and removed within 14 days of a request. Parent or guardian consent records are kept for as long as the applicant's data is held, as evidence of consent. Anything required for legal reasons may be kept longer.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right:
- to be told what personal information we hold about you;
- to receive a copy of it;
- to have mistakes corrected;
- to have your data deleted;
- to restrict or object to how we process it;
- to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it; and
- to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
You can make a request at any time by emailing sadescouts@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed, and significant changes will be flagged on the site.
